Case battle rules

Review the room before joining

Check the currency, entry cost, cases, rounds, format and mode. Battles use authenticated players; the site does not fill empty seats with fabricated opponents. The terms used for settlement are frozen in the battle record.

Normal, Crazy and Shared

Normal: the highest total drop value wins. Crazy: the lowest total wins. Shared: the combined drop value is split among all seats. In 2v2, Normal and Crazy compare team totals and split the winning return between that team’s seats. Ties use the recorded random tie-break. Remainder units are allocated in ascending winning-seat order.

A three-seat scoring example

Illustrative totals, not player results: seats 1, 2 and 3 finish with $2, $5 and $3 of recorded drop value. The pool is $10. Normal awards the $10 pool to seat 2; Crazy awards it to seat 1. Shared gives $3.34 to seat 1 and $3.33 to each other seat. These are returns before subtracting each player’s entry cost.

Teams and tied scores

In a 2v2 example, team A has seat totals of $2 and $5, while team B has $3 and $4. Both teams total $7. Normal and Crazy therefore use the recorded random tie-break between the tied teams; the selected team shares the $14 pool, $7 per seat. A tie is not a refund or an automatic split between the teams. If a winning team’s pool has an odd cent, its lower-numbered seat receives that remainder cent.

Currency and recovery

New battles debit and settle in your normal USD balance using frozen case rewards. Historical Play-money battles remain nonredeemable and available for recovery and proof; a pictured drop is not a promised Steam delivery. If creating or joining is interrupted, recover the original command before sending another. Review the room’s current status rather than assuming it can be cancelled after play has begun.

Sources and content checks

Normal, Crazy and Shared scoring, team totals, tie-breaking and remainder allocation were checked against battle rules. Play and USD use separate result-verification versions.
